TV News: BBC Confirms Call The Midwife Christmas Special

"Bumble bumble bumble"

Everyone loved Call The Midwife, the BBC’s recent Sunday night drama and most popular programme ever to feature bumbling,  awkward women on bikes.

So it should come as no surprise to hear that, like Doctor Who and Downton Abbey, it’s getting its own Christmas Special. Although unlike those telly behemoths it probably won’t feature robotic aliens or Dame Maggie Smith looking disapproving.

More’s the pity.

BBC Drama controller Ben Stephenson confirmed the festive edition today, although he didn’t let on what the plot might be.

However, given the time of year and the subject matter it’ll be very disappointing if stables, mangers and young, confused single mothers aren’t involved.
